In 1982 Michael Clark, a struggling musician seeking artistic inspiration retreats to an abandoned cabin to record a demo, only to encounter a mysterious Siren whose haunting melodies intertwine with his music. The film explores the seductive allure of artistic success and the sacrifices one must make. Blurring the lines between reality and the mystical, “Siren’s Song” unfolds a mysterious tale of passion, sacrifice, and the ethereal power of creativity.

Pre-Production

During the pre-production phase, Samuel illustrated over 200 frames and edited them together as an animatic to inspire the photography on the production days. As a small micro-budget short with a less than five member crew, the storyboard / animatic was crucial to staying on task and ensuring all necessary shots of the day were captured.

In this video comparison, you can see how truthful the team stayed to the shots as conceptualized in the storyboard phase of pre-production.
